Molla ABC is a game for learning letters and numbers for children. The game was created as a part of the MOLLA – varhaiskasvatuksen verkkotaidot ja -menetelmät project funded by The Finnish National Board of Education and the City of Turku. The project was coordinated by TOP-keskus, an institution that promotes the use of computers in teaching. NordicEdu did the visuals, game elements and technical implementation of the game.
In Molla ABC¸the player gets to learn all lower and upper case letters of the alphabets as well as numbers by drawing them by his or her finger. The game instructs the right way of writing the characters and thus supports the development of the child’s handwriting. The drawing area in the game looks like wood and when drawing the characters with in the game, the player hears a cozy and fun sound of carving on wood
In the learning situation, Molla ABC is very practical and versatile and thus suitable for children of various ages, since the characters to be trained and as the number of repetitions can be chosen at will.
